The Spa Trail

This is the name for a section of the Viking Way that runs between Hornacstle and Woodhall Spa. It follows the old railway line and has a number of interesting objects to see along the way.

The Viking Way

The Viking Way is a long distance footpath (147 miles) which starts on the banks of the Humber and finishes on the shores of Rutland Water. It incorporates the Spa Trail and can be joined at a number of points nearby.

The Water Rail Way

The Water Rail Way was completed in late 2008, and links Lincoln and Boston. It has 20 miles off-road, and another 13 miles on country lanes. Using the route of a disused railway the path runs alongside the River Witham. It is clearly marked. The Water Rail Way also inter-links with the Viking Way.

The Lindsey Trail

The Lindsey Trail is a long distance circular multi-user route through the Lincolnshire Wolds. It extends from Market Rasen to Horncastle. It is a 69 mile trek which takes in the Lincolnshire Wolds. 22 miles of the route is off road. The surface is good on road but can be uneven in places when it goes off road. It is easy walking though long (if you are planning to complete it as a long distance trek). The terrain is undulating but you get some great views over the Wolds. The route is suitable for carriage drivers, horse riders, cyclists and walkers.
